The Story of XLand Fitness

What is XLand Fitness? XLand Fitness is a private fitness studio where we teach one on one personal training. We also offer group classes. Our objective is to make sure everything is done to ensure the client is 100% satisfied, while keeping it fun and enjoyable. The template-style workouts don’t work for everyone. In some cases, they could even make things worse! So, not only do you need a customized program, you also need someone who understands that this program should grow as your own body grows in response. Plans on paper are sometimes less important than “How do you feel today?”

My back story on why I became a trainer

A little back story on way I became a fitness trainer. It was many years ago I remember myself being overweight and always feeling like crap. Had a belly of jelly and hated to look at myself. So, I finally decided to make a change now at that time I had no intention of training others lol I was even ashamed to go to an actual gym, so I started my fitness journey at home doing insanity from Beachbody, I’ll tell you what that was not easy. I actually hated it but I was committed to losing this weight. Then I found p90x and that was way more of what I was looking for. It was not easy, but I started to enjoy the journey way more. Back then I couldn’t even do a pull-up had to use a chair, but we all have to start somewhere. I remember complaining the 90 days and was in shock at how far I had come and wanted more so I did the program again. And keep adding more stuff in from Beachbody and doing some things myself. At that time Anna thought I was crazy, but she cheered me on. I started hitting some workouts at the ymca along with doing programs at home still from good old Beachbody. I really started loving lifting weights and the fact I was not hating to see myself in the mirror anymore. It was a long process for sure but very happy I stuck with it. I started coaching back then via Beachbody just helping others stay motivated and committed as I felt it helped me do the same. And that just snowballed as the years passed. My very first certification was actually p90x back in 2012 and began teaching it with my buddy Bob at the ymca. And that really was where I feel in love with actually helping others it was fun it was new it was challenging about 6 months went by and I decided to get certified to become a personal trainer along with my p90x certification. I was now teaching classes and personal training all part time after work or before work. I did that for a long time before I ever even considered doing this for an actual full-time career. I have met some amazing people doing what I do now and hosting the good 100% outweighs the few bad people I have worked with. Now it definitely has not been easy and sometimes the stress it over the top but there really isn’t a better feeling for me then helping others and seeing the changes they go through. I know a lot of people dislike p90x but for me it was what has shaped by fitness passion and is the main reason way I even became a trainer in the beginning.
